Warranties & Duty of Care
All Osier Belle furniture made by Belle International carries a 5 year warranty on most materials (please see breakdown below), providing that you follow our duty of care guidelines below. Failure to adhere to our duty of care requirements may void your warranty.
VERY IMPORTANT – Please refer to your invoice with specific duty of care requirements for your purchase. If you have any questions or concerns, please immediately contact Osier Belle for advice of maintaining your furniture. Failure to follow these instructions will void your warranty.
Sunbrella fabric comes with a 5 year fade-resistant warranty.
All of our Sunbrella covers are removable and machine washable on a gentle cycle.
Any stains should be treated immediately. Different stains require different cleaning methods, please refer to Sunbrella Stain Chart for more information about how to treat specific stains.
It is a warranty requirement that you re-treat your fabric with a water-repellency product such as Scotchgard after every wash to maximise the fabrics’ stain resistance.
Viro wickers come with a 3 year fade-resistance and cracking warranty, which Osier Belle has extended by a further 2 years.
Viro wickers can be cleaned using a wet cloth or low-pressure hose with mild-soapy water if needed.
Using harsh cleaners, or excess force on the wicker will void your warranty.
Urecel Quick-Dry Foam
Urecel Quick-Dry Foam comes with a 3 years manufacturer’s warranty, which Osier Belle has extended by a further 2 years.
Clean your foam by removing the covers and spraying with a low-pressure hose. Ensure that your foam is completely dry, and any debris are removed before putting the covers back on.
Powder-Coated Polished Aluminium Framework
Comes with our 5 year manufacturer’s warranty.
Unless otherwise requested, all of Osier Belle furniture is made using powder-coated polished aluminium framework as it is rust resistant, durable and strong. To clean furniture legs, use a wet cloth with mild-soapy water.
Stainless Steel 304
Comes with our 5 year manufacturer’s warranty.
Stainless Steel 304 ‘tea-staining’ over time due to exposure to salt in the air.
‘Tea-staining’ is surface rust, and can be removed easily with a green scouring pad or textured cloth. If in sea air, Stainless Steel 304 requires this maintenance every 4- 8 months, whereas marine-grade Stainless Steel 316 will require maintenance every 8 – 12 months.
At Osier Belle, we use A5/A6 Graded Teak that is FSC (Forest Stewardship Certification) and TFT (Tropical Forest Trust) certified on Recycled teak on request.
The FSC certification guarantees that:
The wood from which the product is made is harvested from a sustainably managed forest or plantation and that harvested tree is either replaced or allowed to regenerate
Parts of the forest are protected to provide habitat to wildlife and endangered species
- The local communities have the right to use the forest for resources
The forest or plantation is managed by the local workers who are provided with proper training and equipment as well as paid decently for their work
The timber is traced from the standing tree all the way to the store
TFT was set up to eliminate illegal timber from the supply chain, the TFT has developed a highly effective system which allows businesses to verify the origin of the timber, limits deforestation and destruction of the forests, and protects the rights of forest-dependent communities. It also helps the consumers identify environmentally conscious furniture companies and reduce their carbon footprint.
By choosing Osier Belle teak, you will say no to environmentally reckless practices.
Important to note: Teak may crack over time. As with all wood, it is continually moving, expanding and contracting in the differing temperatures.
Cracking actually shows the timber is strengthening and working correctly within its climate. It is not a fault or anything to be concerned with. This may be more noticeable in our thicker timber designs.
We try to minimize this happening by designing our furniture with grooves but, if it does crack, it is part of the personality to be accepted with teak and will not be replaced unless deemed critically vulnerable to its use.
In addition, you may see areas that are lighter than others. Again, this is the characteristic of the teak.
You may see marks or wedges in the timber. This is where we have removed bolt or something similar from its’ previous use. This is normal and part of the characteristics of recycled teak.
TEAK MAINTENANCE If you have purchased teak, please follow our instructions on maintenance. It is important you treat your timber regularly. Osier Belle uses Cutex Clear and Cutek Black Ash timber stain.
Please take a moment to view this product and the method of application via this link: www.cutek.com.au If you would rather create a difference tone, please only use Cutex; NO OTHER PRODUCT should be introduced as it will not work and will void your warranty.
Osier Belle Protective Covers are made to protect your furniture and a barrier against continual extreme weather, therefore, come with a 2 year warranty. The Australian climate is incredibly harsh and nothing lasts permanently sitting outdoors so that is why we offer our protective covers to increase the longevity of your furniture.
