Do you do make custom cushions for seating areas, benches, fire pits or back cushions?

Yes we do all the time! We have converted tired benches and nooks with no personality into beautiful retreats that look stunnng. Simply get in touch with some guide on size and we can quote for you in the huge range of fabrics we have available.

Can I leave my designer scatter cushions outside?

Yes – all the designer cushion fabrics we have available in our range have been created for the outdoors. Mokum, James Dunlop and Catherine Martin fabrics come with a 2 year warranty whilst Sunbrella, 3Beaches and Agora have a 5 year warranty.

What do I do if I spill red wine on my cushions?

Next time remember to keep your glass closer to your mouth! Don’t panic. Our cushion covers are easily removable so take them off as soon as possible and follow this easy guide (https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1043791205809569). If the wine has soaked through into the foam, hose down until the wine has been removed and place in a warm, bright area to fully dry prior to putting the covers back on again.

Are the back cushions the same foam as the base cushion?

Depending on the collection, our formed back cushions are made with Urecel Quick Dry Foam and wrapped with Dacron to soften the shape and maximise comfort. Some designs are completed with a scatter cushion style pillows. These are created using Angel Hair Dacron, the highest quality and density of Dacron for outdoor cushions available.

What is Osier Belle SHIELD and how does it work?

Having listened to our customers needs and requriements for the functionality of their furnture, we have introduced Osier Belle SHIELD, a added process to a selection of our popular fabrics that makes it 100% waterproof rather than water repellent. When wet, the fabric thread actually expands, and any water simply beads up on the fabric surface rather than seeping into the Urecel Quick Dry Foam. The fabric surface is a little stiffer than the original fabric but maintains the softness on the top ensuring that, if it has rained, you simply wipe the water off the surface and have a cushion that is totally dry and ready to enjoy. How do I look after my furniture cushions?

It is important you regularly clean your cushions. Even if you cannot see stains, dirt, sweat and build up of pollution will not be enjoyable to sit on. We use 100% solution dyed acrylic on all our designs. We source these from USA, France and Spain using Sunbrella, Dickson, Glen Raven and Agora. To make life easy and unlike any other brand, Osier Belle excels design to every detail, making all the cushion covers with wrap around, hidden YKK zip system for easy removal. SImply take off and put in the washing machine (for more details https://global.sunbrella.com/en-us/how-to-clean). After machine washing, we recommend you spray with Fabric Guard 303 (available to purchase from Osier Belle), this resists stains, soling and build up of mildew by restoring the water repellency. If something has soaked through to the fabric into the foam, place in sunshine and hose until clean and leave to fully dry.

Can I hose my furniture down?

Yes, you can hose your furniture down, no problem at all but please do not use a pressure hose on wicker or cushions. All our furniture is designed to be cleaned with water so simply place the cushions to the side, hose, use a soft bristle brush and mild detergent to remove any stubborn dirt, the rinse and wipe down to dry.

What foam do you use?

We only use the best and that is Urecel Quick Dry Foam. Advanced, high-performance foam engineered specifically for outdoor applications, Urecel QuickDry is the first choice for top-end designers because it’s simply the best there is. Produced by a sophisticated process called Hydro-Blast Reticulation, Urecel QuickDry has a unique porous open-cell structure – and why it completely outperforms closed-cell, non-reticulated, regular foams.

Why do many cushions have webbing underneath them?

We design our furniture cushions with Batyline Ferrari webbing underneath to ensure your cushions drain efficiently and effectively. This also provides essential ventilation to maximise airflow and minimise moisture build up in humid and high recipitation locations.

What zips do you use?

We use YKK outdoor zips, reputed as the best zipper on the planet. YYK is renowned for their high-performance and non-corrosive qualities. The letters stand for “Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha” which, from Japanese, roughly translates to “Yoshida Company Limited.” Interestingly, the company makes half the zippers on Earth, which is more than 7 billion zippers each year.

Does the fabric stain?

All our fabrics are machine washable and can be cleaned on a bleach solution wash without strinkage or fading. Naturally, if stains are left on the covers for an extended period of time, it is going to become increasingly more difficult to remove the marks. What kind of fabric are the cushions made from?

Only 100% solution dyed acrylic will stand the test of time in Australia. Do not compromise on any fabric such as Olefin, Polyester mix or Linen – these fabrics will fade, harden and stain. We use simply the best proven outdoor fabrics in the world, Sunbrella from USA, Glen Raven in France and Agora from Spain.

We try to include all options; however, our ranges are incredibly extensive, so we have tried to create a website that gives you a great introduction, without being overwhelming.

Is The Furniture Australian Made?

The furniture is designed by British/Australian Citizen, Penny Camplisson, the Founder and Owner of Osier Belle, who has lived in Sydney for nearly 20 years.

The factory is located in Cirebon, Java, where we have a highly skilled (and valued) team who make our furniture for you.

The expertise and expense to make what we create in Australia is simply not possible. Teak, the most durable timber available for outdoor furniture, cannot be sourced in Australia, and if it were shipped and then made here, the prices would be unrealistic for retail sale.

If you visit a store that suggests it is made in Australia or Europe (or USA!), we would recommend you push for confirmation this is true as we know all the factories that produce for these retailers (and they are not far from ours!).

What is inside the cushions and do they have ventilation?

All outdoor cushions should be made with reticulated foam designed for outdoor use. We use Urecel Quick Dry Foam, the best commercial marine foam in the world, and complete our cushion covers with Batyline Ferrari webbing for essential ventilation and drainage.

Inside is encased with a netted cover, essential to hold all contents together whilst providing ease of removable outer cover for washing.

Do you loan furniture for photoshoots, conferences and expos?

We do have a range of rental stock available for events such as this that can be loaned for a short period of time. Contact us directly for more information.

What are your opening times?

We are open 10am to 5pm every day, including Saturday and Sunday. Occasionally, we are closed for private consultations to protect privacy of our clients, so if you are travelling from afar please do give us a call and we can ensure we are open for you too!

Where is your showroom located?

We are located at Shop 4, 24 Young Street, Neutral Bay. The main entrance is on Grosvenor Street, and we are nestled between Grill’d and Firefly (both great places to grab something to eat!).

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is metered parking immediately outside our showroom (free on Sundays) with easy access for wheelchairs and prams. There is also limited parking on the opposite side of the road that is free of charge, and undercover parking in Coles, located just a 5-minute walk from our showroom.

Where are your stores? Do you have any other than in Sydney?

Due to the technical aspects of our brand and specific manufacturing that is quite different from other factories, our production capacity is relatively low – we do not operate as a mass production business.

Therefore, we currently conduct our business through our store in Neutral Bay, Sydney.

How do I wash my cushions?

It is essential that you can easily take cushion covers off and throw them in a machine wash without shrinkage or fading. Naturally, cushions get dirty from food, sweat, and environmental sources.

All our covers have been cleverly designed with hidden, easy-to-access openings using YKK, non-corrosive, marine-grade zips. They can be easily removed for machine washing and, importantly, are also easy to put back on so they look as good as new.

Can you leave the cushions out in all weathers?

Never invest in outdoor furniture that suggests you should bring in the cushions. That is not true outdoor furniture.

Osier Belle cushions can stay outdoors all year round, no problem at all. They will take time to dry in heavy storms but will not mould (unless a food source is not removed or the cushion is not properly aired).

How long is the warranty on my furniture and what does it cover?

The Osier Belle warranty is 5 years from the date of purchase (protective covers and scatter cushions have their own warranty, dependent on the fabric brand). Sale items may differ.

The warranty covers any manufacturing defects or timber joints failing due to excess cracking.

Our warranty does not cover misuse or evidence that shows our recommended maintenance and duty of care have not been adhered to.

How do we know your furniture is safe to use as it is coming from overseas?

Our furniture is made in our very own factory, and all certifications and shipping requirements are personally handled by our owner, Penny Camplisson.

Every container is FULLY FUMIGATED and certified prior to leaving the factory. Once checked and approved, it is securely locked with a bolt, only removable by specialized cutters.

The shipment is then processed through a series of highly regulated systems and sent to Port Botany in Sydney.

Once there, Australian Border Control checks all paperwork and, if necessary, opens the container to conduct a quarantine inspection or x-ray examination. No container is allowed from the port onto Australian soil until all paperwork is complete and Australian Border Control is satisfied that all safety and importation measures have been fulfilled.

Careful manufacturing, certified fumigation, and 21 days at sea ensure your furniture is 100% safe to use immediately.

Do you ever run sales or discounts on furniture?

We have been known to run a sale or discount furniture when we are launching new designs or older fabrics are no longer available so we need to remove them from the floor to avoid confusion or disappointment.

Are your concrete tables easy to move around?

Our concrete tables are heavy (we can provide you with relevant weights) but can be moved around.

We recommend you purchase felt feet from a hardware store prior to delivery so the delivery team can place them under the base feet, assisting movement without scratching your floor.

If this is not an option, we find the tables can be moved with two people. (As a guide, two female staff members in the showroom can move the large concrete dining table.)
